Care that keeps the cap open
A Kallov Hair is raw human hair on a breathable ventilated cap. Cared for properly it will hold its finish for years. This is how we care for ours, written out the way we would tell you in a consultation.

Before the routine
A ventilated cap is cared for differently
Most wig care advice was written for a closed cap, where the goal is to protect a dense foundation. Yours is the opposite. The value of this construction is the space in it, so nearly every care decision comes down to one question: does this keep the lattice open, or does it clog it.
Product that builds up in the gaps, adhesive that migrates into the open areas, and folding the piece into a drawer all cost you the same thing. Airflow.
The routine
Five things, done consistently

Washing
Wash every eight to ten wears, or sooner if buildup has dulled the hair. Sulfate free shampoo, lukewarm water, worked in one direction from root to end. Never scrub the hair against itself. Condition mid length to ends and keep heavier conditioners away from the knots at the cap.

Drying
Blot with a towel, never wring. Air dry on a wig stand so the cap holds its shape and the airflow channels stay open. A piece dried flat on a surface comes back with the lattice pressed closed.

Heat
Raw human hair takes heat well. Use a protectant every time and stay below 350°F. The lace and the knots are the fragile part, not the hair, so keep irons and dryers off the cap itself.

Handling the cap
Store on a stand rather than folded. Keep adhesives away from the open lattice areas entirely. If a weft ever loosens, write to us before you try to fix it yourself. A pulled repair is a much longer conversation than a loose one.

Between wears
Detangle from the ends upward with a wide tooth comb. Store out of direct sunlight. Send the piece to our Georgia stylists for a professional refresh once or twice a year. Like a good coat, a good wig earns its tailoring over a lifetime.
Underneath
The scalp is half of this
Good hair days start under the cap, not on top of it.
Keep the scalp cleansed, moisturized, and stimulated between wears, especially if you are regrowing hair. A ventilated cap gives you the airflow to make that work possible. It does not do the work for you.
If your scalp is tender from treatment or from a period of heavy wear, shorten the wear window before you change anything else. Time off the head does more than any product will.
When to call us
Repair and refresh are handled in house
Repair, re knotting, and refresh are done by our own stylists rather than sent out. That is one of the practical advantages of buying from a house that makes what it sells: the person fixing the piece knows how it was built.
Write to us if you see any of these. A weft lifting away from the grid. Lace tearing at a corner. Knots at the parting going visible. Shedding that has climbed past a normal handful across a full wash. Color that has gone brassy after sun exposure. None of these are emergencies, and all of them get worse if handled at home first.
All sales are final. Damage in transit is a separate matter, and should be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
